Synthesis of new 50Ti complexes for the production of 256Rf
Volatile titanocene derivatives isotopically enriched in titanium-50 have been recently synthesized in the laboratory. They have been successfully used for the first time to produce an intense 50Ti beam by means of the MIVOC method. [1]
This stable isotopic beam has allowed the production of 256Rf. [2]
Current interest are directed towards the syntesis of other super-heavy nuclei.
