Abstract :
We consider 2 or 3 interacting bosons (or fermions, in the S=1/2, T=1/2 channel) in a sperically symmetric harmonic oscillator. Special attention is paid to the behaviour of the ground state of these systems as the range of the attractive interaction is reduced, keeping the two-body binding in free space fixed. The irregular solution of the Harmonic oscillator, normally neglected, is shown to be the valid solution as the range approaches zero. In the three-body problem, the so-called Thomas effect is exhibited in this limit.
