Résumé :
Imaging in medicine and biology provides a wealth of information. The theme of this presentation is that modeling is the key to image formation and to interpretation of function in medicine and biology. This presentation provides a few examples of the models developed to fit SPECT imaging data for the extraction of medical and biological information. Examples include modeling the physics of the image detection process, in vivo biochemical processes, cardiac biomechanical properties, and kinetics of biological remediation. These are just a few examples that challenge physical scientists using models to extract from imaging data biological information in health and disease.
